PREMA Racing signs Laursen to 2022 Formula 4 program

Conrad Laursen F4

PREMA Racing announces that Danish racer Conrad Laursen will return to the team to enter the 2022 Formula 4 season, with the full Italian F4 Championship as his main commitment for the year.

The 15-year-old driver made his debut with PREMA in 2021, cruising to several rookie wins and battling for his class title until the very last race. Laursen previously competed in the Renault F4 Danish Championship and won the 2022 driver title.

For him, as well as for his teammates, the season will bring the introduction of the new-for-2022 Tatuus racecar to the major F4 series in motorsports.

At the end of 2021, Laursen cruised to a podium finish with the new car in the non-championship event held at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. He will start his 2022 campaign, which will include a number of appearances outside the Italian series, with the two final rounds of the Formula 4 UAE Championship.

Angelo Rosin – Team Principal

“The team is delighted to continue working with Conrad, and we are determined to help him to express his best potential in the season ahead. He is also an extremely valuable asset for PREMA because he has speed and a remarkable amount of experience for the age. Having the chance to start the season so early is a bonus, so we will be able to maximize everything and gain good chemistry with the new car.”

Conrad Laursen

“Very excited to continue my journey with PREMA. The first year was absolutely amazing. I learned a lot even though the results were not the ones I wanted, and I felt part of a great family with the team, so it was a very enjoyable experience. That’s one of the reasons why I’m really happy to continue with PREMA for my second year in the Formula 4 class. The expectation is to compete for the championship, and I will do my absolute most to be in my best physical and mental shape. I’m super excited to get going again, it has been a long break, and I’m looking forward to the start of the season.”
