PREMA Racing has solid team performance in Catalunya qualifying

PREMA Racing achieved a solid qualifying result today in round 4 of the FIA Formula 3 Championship at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, with two drivers in the top-5 and one in P12, which will be P1 for the reverse-grid Sprint Race.

Coming from a highly-successful performance at Monte Carlo, Dino Beganovic secured fourth place in yet another super competitive session. The Swede stayed in contention for the whole session and was followed by team-mate Paul Aron. The Estonian was also a highly competitive contender for pole securing another positive starting point for the weekend.

Zak O’Sullivan had a tougher time finalizing his pace and was forced to be content with P12. The silver lining will be that he will start from the front of the reverse grid for tomorrow’s sprint race.

1 PAUL ARON

“Qualifying done here in Barcelona, P5, I think it’s a great result for me and the team. We are in the top five, in the fight for both races. Still a bit disappointed because we seemed really strong in the in the first run. The car was super good, so let’s say we didn’t put it together in the end and there was a little margin left, which is a bit of a shame. We have made good steps again, and we were fighting for pole position all qualifying. That’s super positive, we just need to keep going like that.”

Qualifying: P5

2 DINO BEGANOVIC

“We have mixed feelings but mostly happy. We can race from here, it’s a good position both for Saturday and Sunday. A solid start for tomorrow and definitely on Sunday. There’s a long way to turn 1, but for now I’m happy to be back battling at the front. It’s positive to come from a good weekend in Monaco to a good qualifying in Barcelona, which hasn’t been my favorite track. We’ll try to make it better this time.”

Qualifying: P4

3 ZAK O’SULLIVAN

“It’s P12 in qualy in the end. Obviously not a bad result for the sprint race, shame it is not for the feature. In general, we struggled for a bit of pace, we have time to analyze it and hopefully to come back stronger. As soon as we have the data we will know a bit more but so far we have a good idea about what to work on.”
