Fukuzumi on top during second test day

Nirei Fukuzumi set 1:31.943 laptime during second testing day’s morning session at the Hungaroring in Budapest.
The second day of GP3 Series mid-season test started under the threat of rain, in windy condition on Wednesday. George Russell took his regular first place at the Hungaroring and jumped right to the first place, until the Italian Giuliano Alesi improved on Russell’s time by 9 hundredths and took the leader position.
A big battle occurred for the second place between the ART drivers Jack Aitken, Fukuzumi and Leonardo Pulcini. The Japanese driver showed an astonishing lap and put the best laptime under 1:32, with this he jumped right to the top followed my his teammates ranking Aitken and Russell.
In the morning noon could stop ART drivers from taking the top 3 positions. Raoul Hyman, Leonardo Pulcini, Niko Kari, Giuliano Alesi, Dorian Boccolacci, Santino Ferrucci and Alessio Lorandi were quick enough to complete top 10.
A hour long break followed the session, before the cars took possession of the Hungaroring again. Not too much action took place in the first hour, when Boccolacci took the leadership and remained top until Niko Kari could improve on the Frenchman’s time. Alessio Lorandi showed a good performance during the whole test and got P2 behind Kari. Giuliano Alesi stopped at the entrance of pitlane which cause a brief red flag session.
Followed the restart Hyman improved on Kari’s laptime by three tenth and got a 1:32.191 fastest laptime, which stayed the best until the end of the session. Lorandi finished on P3 behind Kari, ahead of Arjun Maini, Leonardo Pilcini, Dorian Boccolacci, Marcos Sieber, Steijn Schothorst, Giuliano Alesi and Tatiana Calderon.
The next GP3 Series session will take place on the 7-9th of July at the Red Bull Ring in Austria.
