PREMA Racing signs Arthur Leclerc for 2022 FIA F3 effort
PREMA Racing is pleased to announce that Arthur Leclerc will continue his relationship with the team and will enter his second FIA Formula 3 Championship season in 2022. The 21-year-old Monegasque joined the Italian squad in 2020, posting multiple wins in the Formula Regional European Championship. For 2021, he made the step to FIA F3 and secured his maiden win in round 2 at Le Castellet, before repeating the same result at Zandvoort. He also delivered a pole position for the Hungaroring Feature Race.
In 2022, FIA F3 will revert to a similar format to the one used until 2020, with two races per weekend. Like for all the 2021 rookie class, Leclerc will have to adapt to a new weekend schedule for him as he looks to become one of the leading contenders of the series. Leclerc, the younger brother of Scuderia Ferrari F1 driver Charles Leclerc, will once again have the support of the Ferrari Driver Academy program.
Rene Rosin – Team Principal
“It is great to continue our collaboration with Arthur. I am sure that he will carry on the progress we saw in 2021 when he showed he had the potential to be a frontrunner. Last year’s experience with the challenging three-race weekends will definitely help him navigate the events with a great focus, which will surely benefit the whole team.“
