PREMA gets double points finish in Barcelona Feature Race
PREMA Racing brought home two points finishes in the FIA Formula 3 Championship Feature Race at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The race itself left little room for improvements with the formation of a DRS train which was kept alive by the lengthy safety car situations.
British rookie Ollie Bearman rounded out the top-5 and was the team’s highest finisher as he kept control of the situation and focused on not making mistakes.
Quick-starting Jak Crawford ended up close to him in P6. The American also delivered a clean race to secure a points finish.
Unfortunately, Arthur Leclerc faced a challenging race as wheel-spin at the start cost him positions early. Contact hampered him further as he was assessed a post-race penalty that eventually sent him down to P16.

“It was a bad race straight away from the beginning as I had a lot of wheelspin off the line. On the first lap, I had contact with Vidales and after that, I didn’t have the chance to create an opportunity in turn one. I had to defend all-race long from the cars I had behind. We hope for a full reset heading to Silverstone.”

“I made a good start and gained some positions, basically running in sixth the whole race. There was a big DRS train and no one could overtake, plus with the safety cars there was no degradation so it turned out to be a boring race, not much more to say!”

“Better race today, I’m happy to take home some points after a few races without. It was good but a bit of a DRS train. I managed to take one position off the start, and then I was just stuck in the train, once you get within 8 tenths, the tyres start to overheat and you can’t really do much. It was a bit boring but we take the points and now off to Silverstone!”
