PREMA Racing, Antonelli deliver outstanding triple win at Hockenheim

PREMA Racing ADAC F4

PREMA Racing achieved memorable success in last weekend’s Formula 4 ADAC Championship. Lining up for the second round of 2022, Andrea Kimi Antonelli captured a phenomenal triple win at Hockenheim, becoming only the second driver to achieve such a feature in the history of the series.
The Mercedes-supported Italian started from pole and dominated races 1 and 2, before fighting back from P8 on the reverse grid to complete the hat-trick on Sunday, capping a flawless weekend.
Brazilian Rafael Camara had another impressive rookie weekend, finishing in second place twice before harvesting another points finish with P4 in race 3 with a trouble-free run. Despite not ending up on the podium this time, Charlie Wurz and Conrad Laursen scored three points finishes. The Austrian took fourth place in race 1, while the Dane had seventh place as his best result.
It was a tough weekend for James Wharton. The Australian finished race 1 in P6 but was penalized 30 seconds due to a jump start. He claimed the same position in race 2 before falling victim to contact in the final heat of the weekend.

#7 CHARLIE WURZ
“It was a difficult weekend, we were struggling for pace, but we have some tests coming up to work on a few things. Hopefully, after those tests, we’ll have those things ironed out to come into the Misano weekend fully prepared.”

#12 ANDREA KIMI ANTONELLI
“It has been a good weekend and a nice comeback after the bad one at Imola. We had a good pace since practice, and we improved after every session, both in terms of driving and set-up. In qualifying, we got two pole positions for races 1 and 2. In race 1, I started well and managed to pull a good gap, taking advantage of the others fighting. In race 2, conditions were not easy because the temperatures were lower but again I made a good start and opened a gap. It wasn’t easy to get up to the pace, but I eventually got another win. In race 3, I started from P8, and I managed it better than in Spa. I put up a great pace again and started to gain positions, making it to another win. I want to thank the team, my sponsor, and my family for this great weekend, and I look forward to Misano.”
