PREMA Racing took home a double points finish today at Monte Carlo in the second race of the FIA Formula 2 Championship at the legendary street venue. The Red Bull Junior pairing had a good start with Hauger jumping a couple of positions. Both drivers went for an early pit stop and had the chance to run in clean air.
However, a safety-car situation allowed all the leading contenders to pit within their window, which impacted the strategy for Hauger and Daruvala but did not deprive them of points finishes.
Hauger eventually drove a clean race to take home P7. Daruvala, who came out of the pit-stop sequence in P9, delivered a brilliant overtake, one of the few of the race, to claim P8.
#1 DENNIS HAUGER
“I had a pretty good start. I felt that the pace was really good on the primes but got caught a little bit in traffic, and obviously the safety car timing worked against us. Other than that, I’m pretty happy with the pace and the performance in general, so that’s definitely a positive aspect to take onwards to Baku.”

#2 JEHAN DARUVALA
“I didn’t have a great start as I lost one position to Dennis. After that, it was pretty difficult to overtake on the options, so I struggled a bit, but the pace was great on the primes. I don’t know where we would have ended up without the safety car, but I think it wasn’t great for us. In Monaco, as said, it’s very hard to overtake, and we finished where we started. Hopefully, we will have a bit of better luck in Baku to fight at the front.”
