R03 – Barcelona – FIA Formula 3 Race Preview
PREMA Racing will be back in the FIA Formula 3 Championship this weekend as the series hits one of its most traditional destinations at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The Spanish venue, one of the most renowned at a national and international level, is a benchmark for junior single-seater racing and the PREMA camp will be chasing its first win of the season on a track it knows very well from multiple championships.
Coming from a troubled round at Imola, where he was punted out of qualifying, Arthur Leclerc has been impressive in his recovery in Italy, and is now tied for the lead of the driver championship. The Monegasque representing the Ferrari Driver Academy with his teammate Ollie Bearman showed great speed so far. The British rookie has been equally impressive, claiming his maiden podium in his first FIA F3 and running seventh in the championship.
Standing between Leclerc and Bearman in fourth place, Red Bull Junior driver Jak Crawford put up a brilliant progression, claiming second place in Imola’s feature race and contributing to the team’s leading position in the team classification.
Rene Rosin – Team Principal
“Although we are still chasing our first win of the year, we showed great potential although I think we haven’t been particularly lucky. Lining up at Barcelona we look forward to seeing everything level out and and provide a good picture of where everybody stands. All three drivers have shown pace and consistency, and by putting everything together I think we will be highly competitive this weekend.”
