PREMA Racing ends Budapest qualifying in P8, P12
PREMA Racing wrapped up FIA Formula 2 qualifying at Hungaroring with Dennis Hauger and Jehan Daruvala finishing in P8 and P12 respectively.
The Norwegian put up a positive improvement throughout the session and eventually made it into the top-10 with his second set of tyres. He will start tomorrow’s Sprint Race from P3 on the reversed top-10 grid.
Daruvala ended up in P12 and will have to go for a bold recovery in the two races, relying on the consistency he showed since the beginning of the year.
Weather conditions might provide additional variables for the team to play with as rain is expected in the morning and more precipitation could follow throughout the rest of the weekend.
#1 DENNIS HAUGER
“We had an issue at the beginning of the second run which didn’t allow us to use the last set, but with the first set, we were not there, things for me to work on definitely and things to focus on going into the race. It has been a hard day. Definitely, there will be opportunities for the races. Had a lot of fights here last year, there are things to do and it’s just about trying to make the best of it again although obviously, it’s not where you want to be.”
Qualifing: P8
Fastest Lap: 1:28.604
#2 JEHAN DARUVALA
“Not an easy session again. I think I could have done a better job, I made a mistake on my last lap but I was lacking a bit of pace. If I put it together I could have been in the top-8. Still not where we want to be in terms of pace. It’s definitely frustrating and I need to see what I can do from there tomorrow.”
