PREMA Racing has troubled race 1 in Hungary
PREMA Racing had another extremely challenging race today at Hungaroring. Lining up for the second race of the weekend, the team struggled in gaining the right chemistry with the track.
Jehan Daruvala started from P12 and bounced back to P11 after a first-lap situation, opting for an early dive to the pits to go from Option to Prime tyres.
Fellow Red Bull Junior driver Dennis Hauger attempted the opposite strategy, going for Prime tyres and pitting on lap 19, but struggled to keep them alive and eventually had to come back for a new set towards the end. The Norwegian eventually finished in P19.
The team will now head into the summer break with the goal of reversing its recent fortunes and going back to its previous form.
#1 DENNIS HAUGER
“Just a bit of a hopeless one as we struggled on both tyres. The start and the first couple of laps weren’t too bad but we couldn’t keep the tyres for some reason. I felt I was driving quite safe but couldn’t manage it in the end. Honestly, I’m feeling a bit lost right now, but we have the summer break to try and sort things out. We will really make an effort to try to reset a bit and get back in the rhythm, although it’s been a few hard rounds.”

#2 JEHAN DARUVALA
“I think it was not an easy race, the first lap was not the best as I went wide in turn 2 while fighting and I was P15. Considering the pace we had, we finished in P11, we tried to box and undercut but overall, while better compared to yesterday, we have a lack of all-around pace. We have three weeks now before Spa, we need to be back fighting at the front.”
