R06 – Hungaroring – FIA Formula 3 Race Preview
The FIA Formula 3 Championship will be back racing at Hungaroring this weekend, as the flowing track, home to the Hungarian Grand Prix, will host round six of the season. PREMA Racing will line up again with its driving trio of Arthur Leclerc, Jak Crawford and Ollie Bearman.
The Ferrari Driver Academy Monegasque, who is now P3 in the driver championship but only a few points away from the lead, secured his maiden win of the year at Silverstone, captured a podium finish in his rookie F3 season last year, and is hoping to make a step forward ahead of the final part of the year.
Red Bull Junior Crawford is coming from one win last time around at Red Bull Ring, his first of the season, and the 17-year-old American is trailing teammate Leclerc in the driver standings.
Bearman will continue his rookie season and will drive at Hungaroring for the first time. The multiple Formula 4 Champion already achieved three podiums this year, two of which were in the feature races of the last two rounds at Silverstone and in Spielberg. The 17-year-old FDA member is sitting P6 in points, contributing to PREMA’s commanding team championship lead.
Rene Rosin – Team Principal
“We are really satisfied with the progress the team has made in the last few rounds and I hope to see our drivers make more steps towards the front. We showed the ability to fight in qualifying and race day and we finally broke through to our first wins. Obviously now we want more, and knowing we have the pace and the potential regardless of the external or weather conditions is definitely a confidence boost.”
