PREMA Racing wraps up tough Spa weekend
The Belgian weekend of the FIA Formula 2 Championship ended up with no points on the board for PREMA Racing. The Italian squad faced a number of obstacles at the Belgian venue, with Dennis Hauger finishing the Feature Race in P11 and Jehan Daruvala having to serve an unscheduled stop due to early contact.
The Indian racer started from P9 but was swallowed by the chasing pack and found himself in the heat of a multi-car battle. Unfortunately, that led to contact, and with damage to fix, Daruvala had to be called back to the pits for repairs. When he later pitted for tires, he dropped back down the order.
Hauger had a great jump and made his way into the top-10, putting up good pace on softer tires. Degradation in the end and two penalties, one for contact and another for track limits, cost him points finish although the good improvements in terms of pace can now lay a good foundation for Zandvoort.
#1 DENNIS HAUGER
“Although the results today weren’t the best, I still felt there were positive things to take. Compared to yesterday we definitely made a step with the softs. We still struggled a bit with the mediums in the end especially, but otherwise I felt there were steps made and things we can definitely bring to next week. It was a decent race, I tried to keep it clean and do the best job I could. We have something we can take and move forward.”
