R11 – Spa-Francorchamps – FIA Formula 2 Race Preview

PREMA Racing F2 Spa-Francorchamps

The FIA Formula 2 Championship will come out of its summer break this coming weekend as the second-tier series heads to Spa-Francorchamps to support the Belgian Grand Prix after a one-year hiatus in 2021. The mighty 7-kilometer track has an unparalleled history and is a perfect location to set off the final part of the 2022 season.
Coming from a tough run that ended without a points finish at Hungaroring, PREMA Racing lines up on a radically different track, with high-speed corners flowing through the forest and extreme elevation changes. Red Bull Junior drivers Dennis Hauger and Jehan Daruvala are in for a rebound to go back to the earlier form that handed them nine combined podiums, including two wins.
The Indian is currently the team’s frontrunner in the championship with P5, while the Norwegian is standing back in P12, eyeing a prompt return to the top-10 to end a 4-race pointless streak.
While the weather for the weekend should be mostly fine, there can always be some surprises in the area with frequent unexpected precipitations happening on race weekend.
Rene Rosin – Team Principal
“We look forward to going back to one of the most classic and challenging tracks on the calendar. We had a couple of rough weekends, so we hope to set the record straight  and move in the right direction for the final part of the year. We showed what we are capable to achieve, now we need to execute, especially in qualifying, as it is necessary to set the tone for the rest of the weekend.”
