PREMA grabs triple top-5, front row start with Lindblad

PREMA Racing captured three top-5 positions in qualifying for the sixth round of the FIA Formula 3 Championship at Red Bull Ring. Coming off an impressive performance in Barcelona, Red Bull Junior Arvid Lindblad grabbed his second consecutive Feature Race front row start in second place.

Alpine Academy racer Gabriele Minì was close to the pole in a tight pack where 24 drivers were covered by less than one second, finishing fourth. He was trailed by teammate Dino Beganovic.

The Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy Swede, who was impeded in his last flying lap, will have a chance to compete at the front in races. In addition to starting from row 3 in the feature race, he will be the best-placed PREMA driver in the reverse-grid Race 1 in P8.

1 DINO BEGANOVIC

“Fifth is not a bad result, it’s good to come back after Barcelona. There was still some potential but we can definitely race from here. It’s a very good starting point and we know that in the races it’s about being clever and managing the tyres well and the whole situation. It will be interesting, like last year, and I think we are in a very good spot to score good points in both races.

Qualifying: P5
Fastest lap: 1:20.424

2 GABRIELE MINÌ

“We are back in the top 5 which was the main goal for us. It’s also a bit of a shame as we were coming up much quicker in the last push and could have gotten pole, but I got some traffic in the last sector. We have a good pace, we are starting at the front, in the second row. We need to maximize the points tomorrow and then try to attack on Sunday.”

Qualifying: P4
Fastest lap: 1:20.417

3 ARVID LINDBLAD

“Good qualy today with P2 on the grid for the Feature Race and the second consecutive front row. The car was good, and the lap was good as well, which put us in a great position, especially for the Feature Race. I think it will be different compared to Barcelona, with a lot of degradation we will have to manage, but it will be a fun challenge and we’ll do our best.”
