PREMA drivers head for round 4 at Zandvoort
F1 Academy is set for its return to Zandvoort as the summer break is finally over this weekend at the famous Dutch venue. The challenging 4.2-kilometer circuit, featuring its trademark high-speed and banked corners, will be home to round 4. For the second time this year after Barcelona, the series will be returning to a 2023 venue.
PREMA’s Doriane Pin is currently second in points, with a win and two podiums to her credit. Lining up still with a chance to fight, the French racer is looking for a positive weekend to stay in contention. Maya Weug is starting the weekend with P7 in the driver championship and the desire to bounce back from a tough run at Barcelona. Back on Spanish soil, she could score no points due to contact and a penalty. Weug, who competes under the Dutch flag, hopes to be quick from the get-go on a track she already raced at in the past. On the other hand, Tina Hausmann will be back to secure more points. The Swiss racer is on the right trajectory after facing tough luck earlier in the season.
PREMA Racing will once again field a wild-card fourth car for Nina Gademan. The Dutch racer had promising experiences in karting and car racing, and is looking for a positive F1 Academy debut.
With cool temperatures expected and chances of rain and strong winds, Zandvoort will provide drivers with some challenges that, while complicated to manage, can create valuable chances for learning and improvement.
Rene Rosin – Team Principal
“We are heading to Zandvoort with the goal of fighting at the front for wins and podium finishes. We didn’t have maybe the easiest weekend at Barcelona, but we saw some promise there and we need to work to put everything together to stay in the fight for the championship before the final stint between Singapore, Qatar and the UAE.”
