R09 – Monza – FIA Formula 3 Race Preview
The FIA Formula 3 Championship is finally reaching the culmination point of a challenging, unpredictable, and spectacular season at Monza and at its home track, PREMA Racing is lining at the famed Grand Prix venue determined to add more satisfaction to its incredibly successfully F3 history. Prema is leading the championship ahead of the Italian finale, and its three drivers are still in the hunt, albeit with some ground to recover in order if they want to accomplish the mission.
Ferrari Driver Academy drivers Ollie Bearman and Arthur Leclerc showed great pace recently, but paid the price of qualifying woes at Zandvoort, while Jak Crawford scored points in the Netherlands but has plenty more to ask for. The Monza track is not only high-speed but it also features wide braking areas. In terms of driving, a good balance between patience and aggression is required. There are chances to recover, but with so much at stake, qualifying will be critical again.
The weather might also come into play as forecasts are contradictory but there might be a chance of thunderstorms.
Rene Rosin – Team Principal
“Formula 3 always has a special place in our hearts, and we are determined to continue our winning tradition, even more because we are at our home circuit. We need to execute right from the start, do well in qualifying and with that, carry the momentum into the race. We know we have three extremely competitive drivers but we must approach the weekend step by step and try to excel in every single one of them. We feel confident, motivated and ready to go.”
