Fukuzumi tops Free Practice at Monza

ART Grand Prix dominated the free practice at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza today. In spite of rain in forecast and large clouds over the track, the session started in sunny conditions late afternoon on Friday.
All field went straight to track, after the practice started setting their first laps at the Temple of Speed. Boccolacci, the local driver Pulcini and Fukuzumi opened the session, but then Anthoine Hubert grabbed the first position ahead of them with a 1:40.009 lap time. The session went smoothly, without any problems or incidents. When 30 minutes left, the Ferrari Academy driver Giuliano Alesi took over the top spot with his teammate Ryan Tveter behind him followed by the ARTs.
In the final 5 minutes things changed quickly. Nirei Fukuzmi stopped the clock at 1:38.594, jumping to P1. His time seemed to be enough, and the Japanese stayed on top until the end of session, where Boccolacci Schothorst, Pulcini, Maini, Lorandi and the new Dan Ticktum completed the top 10 with first 14 drivers within a second of P1.
The Qualifying session starts tomorrow morning at 9.45 local time.
