Oliver Bearman to enter FIA F3 with PREMA Racing in 2022

FIA F3 PREMA Racing Oliver Bearman

PREMA Racing is delighted to announce that Oliver Bearman will join the team to make his FIA F3 debut in 2022. The 16-year-old British racer is coming from an overwhelmingly positive Formula 4 season, having become the first driver to win the Italian and the German championships in the same year.

After starting his competitive karting career in the UK, Bearman quickly emerged as one of the most interesting prospects for a future in racing. In 2019, he won the IAME Euro Series, Winter Cup, and International final in the X30 Junior class, while in 2020, he secured the IAME Winter Cup in the X30 Senior category. By 2020, he had already made his car racing debut and won two races between the Italian and German F4 series. In 2021, he claimed both titles with a combined 17 wins and 26 podiums.

In 2022, he will be taking a huge step towards one of the most competitive junior championships in the ladder to F1, featuring 380-horsepower Dallara machinery. He will do so as a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy, having been selected for the program by the Italian manufacturer at the end of the season. Bearman already had the chance to meet the team in the F3 postseason test session at Valencia.

Rene Rosin – Team Principal “We are looking forward to working with Oliver in 2022. The results he achieved this year speak for themselves, and we have obviously been observing him as rivals. The step for him will be huge and particularly challenging, with a lot to learn, but we will do everything we can to help him maximize his potential and be competitive right from the start. It will be extremely interesting to see the season develop, and what we will be able to accomplish together.”

Oliver Bearman “I’m really looking forward to stepping-up to FIA F3 with PREMA, as my first official year being part of the Ferrari Driver Academy. We worked really well together in the post season test at Valencia, and their results in previous years across everything which they do, speaks for itself. I can’t wait to get started in Bahrain!”
