R05 – Spa-Francorchamps – FIA Formula 3 Race Preview

Prema Racing Spa-Franchorchamps preview

The classic Spa-Francorchamps venue is welcoming the teams and drivers of the FIA Formula 3 Championship this weekend as the series springs back into action after its 2021 summer break. PREMA Racing will race at the 7-kilometer Grand Prix course to continue the successful run experienced so far. The Italian squad will be the one to beat for the many highly competitive contenders of the field, lining up with the trio of Dennis Hauger, Arthur Leclerc and Olli Caldwell.
The 18-year-old Norwegian experienced a majestic run so far with three wins and four more podium finishes along the way, which gave him a healthy advantage in the driver championship. British racer Olli Caldwell is chasing him from a positive third place. The 19-year-old driver keeps securing valuable results confirming the brilliant pace he showed from the beginning of the season.
Arthur Leclerc is looking to continue his maiden journey in the series with positive results. A win at Paul Ricard and P2 starting from the pole at Budapest highlighted the potential of the 20-year old so far. Despite his rookie status in a competitive field and circuit, the goal for him on the Belgian track will be to get more satisfaction and build the foundations of a solid final part of the year.
A true and popular drivers’ track, Spa-Francorchamps has plenty to justify its long history. Fast corners, great action and variable weather often highlight the reaction and adaptation skills of the contenders, so another spectacular weekend might be in the cards.
René Rosin – Team Principal
“While we missed racing, it was good to have some time off to relax and get back into focus for what comes next. We achieved impressive results this season, but we are aware that Spa-Francorchamps can test and stress teams and drivers to their core. We aim to score as many points as possible and see Dennis, Olli and Arthur fight at the front. We are setting sights on a solid start and then to go on from there.”
