PREMA wraps up Silverstone weekend with Race 2

Prema Racing F2 Silverstone

PREMA Racing wrapped up the Silverstone weekend with another tricky race in the FIA Formula 2 Championship. Lining-up for race 2 at the British venue, Dennis Hauger was involved in a scary airborne accident that saw him land on another car at high speed. The Norwegian, as well as the other driver involved, was uninjured but had to retire, ending his weekend with zero points.

Starting from P10, Jehan Daruvala had a positive race with a long stint on prime tyres at the beginning and jumping two spots as he moved to the options. While at least the Indian secured points, the team will now try to analyze what went wrong in the UK ahead of the upcoming race at Red Bull Ring next weekend.

#1 DENNIS HAUGER

“I had an okay start nothing special. Then when Nissany went off the track and rejoined, he went to the left, was pointing out to the right, and turned back to the left into me. I got on the grass and straight in without being able to stop it. It just has been a disappointing weekend overall. We will try to come back stronger in Austria.”

#2 JEHAN DARUVALA

“The race was OK considering that we started in P10. We went for the prime-option strategy. The pace was very good on the prime tyres. In the end, we did the strategy we thought was the best and I think it was the right call. I think I could have finished P6 but nothing better considering the pace of the cars out front and where we started. I think it was okay. In the race we are always really fast, we need to qualify in the first two rows and that will make us fight for the feature race win and podium.”
